Sad to say but I predicted Rob Parker would lose his job over this back on December 22nd. Too bad, because I enjoyed his work with Newsday, even if he didn't like Phil Rizzuto. But the NFL is a league where coaches are always "One of the great minds in the league" or "One of the really classy guys in the league." Isn't it interesting how Vince Lombardi is always praised as a great coach (he was) but the fact he had 9 Hall of Famers (plus Jerry Kramer who could be) is ignored? With Phil Jackson, all you hear is "He had Jordan, he had Shaq and Kobe".
This is the reason why newspapers and radio are dying. They hire people with outrageous personalities and comments and then fire or suspend them when they are doing what they were hired to do in the first place. When will one newspaper or radio station stick up for its talent? At least we still have the internet and satelite radio for now.
