Friday comment contest winner

suggestion%20box.jpgI am getting many complaints from would-be comment contributors about getting rejected because of (allegedly) too many comments being posted in too short a period of time.

People, I feel your pain. It's been happening more and more to me, too, as I try to respond to your many excellent comments and questions.

I am told we are exploring other blogging systems, so hang in there. In the meantime, this week's contest winners are everyone who has posted one of the 18,242 comments over the past 18 months. Thanks for your patience.

What's that you say? This is just a cheap cop-out because I'm too lazy to slog through all of this week's comments and pick a legitimate winner?

Maybe. Your refund check for your subscription fee is in the mail.

I'd be happy to pick another comment contest winner for you.

Yes, the newsday.com software isn't very good. As a just-in-case, with my cursor still in the comment, I always "select all" with a control-a, then copy the comment to the clip board with a control-c. If I get the stupid message from the server, at least my potential comment contest winner isn't Lost in Cyberspace. Sometimes I have to close and reopen the browser to get the stupid message from the server to go away. Or I open the Mozilla Firefox browser.

Happy Fryday in Watchdogville!

I have to love the recognition after all this time. It feels great. Sort of like Tony Kornheiser declaring victory on the "Over/Under" section of PTI.

Seriously, I enjoy the blog. Your devotion to your craft and the reader is impressive. Keep up the great work.

On another note, yes new software to help post reader comments would be very helpful.
