Jets victory was tough break for Jets fan Joe Benigno

ny-bottum-11.jpgWFAN's Joe Benigno had to be torn watching the Jets Sunday, on one hand wanting his team to win and on the other knowing a Jets loss would be fodder for a must listen show with Mike Francesa at 1 o'clock Monday.

One of the highlights of Friday's Benigno-Francesa - sorry, Francesa-Benigno - pairing was when Joe announced on a 50,000-watt clear channel radio station that he does not like morning co-host Craig Carton. He added Francesa does not like him, either.

Wow. Even Glauber and I don't go that far . . . publicly.

This morning Carton mocked Benigno, saying this as he faked crying/whining: "I don't like Craig. I'm going to ingratiate myself with the big guy."

When I leave the beat I am going to ceremoniously throw all of my radios off a very tall building, then take a long vacation in a remote village in the Amazon.

I just watched Glauber on First Take. I can report that he took no shots at you, Neil . . . publicly.

Love Boomer, carton is a self promoting obnoxious loser

The crew fighting amongst themselves and putting it on the airwaves is getting pretty old. Is this a roundabout way of cross-promoting each other? Either way, I think it makes every one of them sound foolish and immature. Stick to the sports, and not worry so much about what the other guy is doing.

If writers like Bissinger hate bloggers like Leitch for their leack of credibility, do sports talkers like Francesa hate Benigno, who was nothing more than a frequent caller before he got a spot on the WFAN roster?

*lack

carton is entertaining about 60% of the time. the remainder of that time he is like the obnoxious kid in the schoolyard with his teasing and insecurities. he brings down the show and the station. boomer is great and deserves a medal for tolerating carton. if craig continues this behavior, specifically his desire for the fued with mike, it will ultimately lead to him losing his job.

Neil - I don't think you give yourself enough credit for changing the political landscape. If you follow through on your intentions, our next VP candidate will hail from... a remote village in the Amazon.

I wonder if they are orchestrating these feuds because the rating stink, CBS Radio is bleeding money and ad sales are down? And fake feuds might attract listeners because of the publicity they may generate.

Rather than deep into the Amazon, you should escape to Burma, which most of your readers may know as Myanmar.

Neil,

Correct me on this, but I think it might have been Marv Albert who was on Boomer's MSG show and the conversation turns towards the morning show and Albert says, you know its just a matter of time before your partner gets you in trouble. Boomer just shifted uncomfortably and pretended to ignore the comment.

I like Boomer, but its just a matter of time before Carton gets that show in trouble andBoomer along with it. Boomer has his hands in so many pots that you think he would be a little more concerned with Carton's infant like tendencies.

Who listens to the Carton and Boomer show?

8 people?
