Peyton Manning hits kids in their heads with a football
Here is another compilation of classic jock-related "Saturday Night Live" skits in honor of Michael Phelps' hosting gig this weekend.
It is topped by a worthy No. 1, the one in which Peyton Manning teaches a group of youngsters about football and life. (Disclosure: One of the girls in the skit is a classmate of my daughter, a worthy claim to fame if there ever was one.)
The only real competition this one has for the top spot would have to be Derek Jeter in drag, but I still give the nod to Peyton.

this peyton manning bit is memorable for being pretty much the only funny thing on SNL in the last 4-5 years. I'd say my all-time fav is the Joe Montana inner monologue sketch... "They won't be bothering me, I'll just be upstairs masturbating."
The skit with all of the baseball players coming out of the young boy's closet to offer him advice (1997) that another poster eluded to is pretty great too.
Peyton was good on SNL especially that half time basketball skit, but Phelps is going to be a disaser. I saw one promo where he was so stiff it was embarassing. I cant imagine live is going to get any better
