Mary Garber, a pioneer among female sports journalists, died Sunday.

So when's Newsday gonna do a little ceiling breaking and give another female her own blog here?

Reviewing the lineup on the left hand side here, it's Kat O'Brien and the Good Ole Boys.
You've got some other quality female writers on the staff, Johnette, Katie and Laura immediately come to mind, yet none of them are permitted club membership.

C'mon Newsday/Cablevision (especially Cablevision), you've got some history to wash away.
Even a "All Things Female" sport's blog would be a decent start.
