Chris Russo makes WFAN guest appearances today!

nooooo.jpgTurns out Christopher (Mad Dog) Russo isn't quite through with WFAN after all.

The station has been running old Yardbarker commercials today voiced by Sirius' new sports talk star himself.

C'mon guys, let's have some fun with this. Are there any old Pete Franklin or Mike Lupica ads gathering dust in the archives? Bring 'em out!

I noticed this as well. But yet they cover the Mike and the Mad Sog photos in the studio with funeral style black drapes.

Something tells me the next "real" appearance of Dog on WFAN will be on the 25th anniversary reunion weekend- 7/1/2012

I agree, we won't see Dog on WFAN until the silver anniversary (which would actually be 9/5/2014.) Or maybe, if contractually allowed, Russo will call in the Francesa show.

"Dog from Syosset on line one."

Neil brings up Pete Franklin. The disparity between his legacy at WFAN and KNBR in San Francisco is cavernous. Pete was an afternoon drive sensation in the Bay Area -- a region that was able to "get" his curmudgeonly radio persona.

Imagine if Pete managed to stick in New York. What would've happened to Francesa & Russo? Can you imagine an enduring memory of WFAN being the time that Pete dropped the toilet flush sound drop over an inane Joe D. from Brooklyn's diatribe?

I happened to listen to Francessa alone yesterday- he is soooooooooooooooooo borrrrrrrring. Golf on radio and Mike by himself what a combo. He better get some company fast. I wanted to hear Mad Dog nag him about the yanks so bad.

Neil,

Are they really serious about this competition at Bar A?
