Chris Russo cries on the air, fans bid show adieu
Hitting the blogging wall the day that "Mike and the Mad Dog" split, with the Olympics ongoing, Brett Favre's debut looming and the Yankees tanking, is kinda like going on a diet the day you find out you've been selected to judge the Bocuse d'Or.
Not great timing.
Here's my Saturday newspaper story about Mike and Chris.

Any idea how much money Mr Francesa will be getting per year on his five year deal?
Enjoy the start of the English Premiere League (the football that actually uses feet) on FSC at 10AM.
Neil- Any chance Boog Sciambi would leave the Braves to come work with Mike? Mike seems to like him and he matches the description of the type of person they are looking for.
Boog's name has occurred to me. He might be looked at, I suppose.
I don't know what Mike is making. I do know others at WFAN are guessing somewhere around $3 million per annum.
Francesa said on the show yesterday "never will have a co-host again". Boog Sciambi isn't doing talk radio right now. He quit the Miami job when baseball season started, he didn't have time for it anymore.
The only way Boog Sciambi comes up here is if he is offered the Yankees radio/TV job and the Yankees would be smart to have a young announcer like him who isn't full of himself but as of now he's a NY kid who does Braves games. Poor fella.
Only time to speculate on that stuff is if the Yanks are indeed moved to WFAN and Waldman gets relegated.
There's no way he would ever get to work for the Yankees, to his detriment with them he's too much of a wise ass type and they would rather have buffoons like Sterling. Sciambi is actually fun to listen to and knows what he is talking about and gets along with his partners.
Darren Eliot from Newday said on tonights Mets Live blog,Mad Dog was the queer for Francesas Fear. Terrible comment.
Ray Ray,
That's the sort of stuff that Neil Biast loves!
Offensive, off-base, insulting. Throw in some poor grammar, a Cornell reference and you've got a NB byline!
New York deserves better!
