Boomer Esiason unsurprised by Francesa, Russo split
What did WFAN morning man Boomer Esiason think of the breakup of "Mike and the Mad Dog?"
Here is what he told me at the CBS pre-season NFL luncheon Tuesday:
"I'm not surprised at all, and I don’t think anybody at the station is. The longer we were there, the more we knew of the tension that was supposedly in the building.
"I love Chris Russo. I loved working with him on Westwood One, the 'In the Huddle' show we did together. I think he’s an immensely talented guy. Now, I don’t know if I’ll be able to find him wherever he’s going, but the fact is he’s a great listen and I loved working with him.
"He is an opinionated, funny guy not afraid to laugh at himself, and I’m going to miss him."
