Larry Andersen suggests planting ball in Jose Reyes' neck

jose.jpgNice to see Jose Reyes making new friends in Philadelphia.

On Thursday's pre-game, SNY played the Philly TV and radio accounts of Reyes' post-home-run antics from Wednesday. Both crews hammered him, especially radio analyst and former pitcher Larry Andersen, who said, "Somebody ought to put one in his neck."

Yikes! Jamie Moyer apparently wasn't listening. He struck out Reyes in the first. Maybe later.

Speaking of SNY, it recorded its best Mets rating of the season for Tuesday night's tilt againt the Phils, attracting 4.9 percent of area homes, then surpassed that Wednesday with a 5.0.

I wonder what Larry's thoughs were when Victorino stood on home plate for 2-3 seconds and clapped his hands towards the Mets dugout after scoring the tying run on Tuesday night. Any clips on that?

Think he'd suggest such for Strawberry or Ray Knight? Safety in distance too.

It's ok...Reyes deserved a few moment of glory after basically blowing the game for the Mets with his boneheaded defense on Tuesday.

NEXT TIME LARRY IS AT SHEA? DUCK MOTHERF'R WE ARE GONNA DRILL YOU YOU NOBODY....PHILADELPHIA FANS THREW SNOWBALLS AT SANTA....ROLIINS AND VICTORINO CONSTANTLY STYLE.

Good for Larry.. Reyes is a scumbag he deserved to be hit in the neck or the head and maybe then he will stop acting like a 6 year on the field.

What's wrong with these uptight Philly fans??!! Can these Mets guys play ball and have fun out there?! They just need something to say after we've been beating them up all season long!

Lets Go Mets!

If the Phils were ticked at Reyes, they should have drilled him yesterday. just like if the Mets were ticked at Victorino, they should have hit him. That's how it gets settled in baseball, not bellyaching from the press box.

consider the source, that's all that need be said... 'homer' radio announcers are getting to be tiresome. XM radio's MLB Channel 175 has a great feature on its morning show, they play calls of teams giving up home runs, losing games, etc., the total disgust and/or lack of emotion is priceless...

Hey, "SNY | July 25, 2008" he hits Philly pitching pretty well for a 6 year old. Oh wait, everyone does.

So, Neil - what do you think about Larry saying that on air. No pitch inside, no he might need to take on in the backside - but he needs a ball to the neck?
