Buzz Bissinger, Will Leitch reunite on 'Costas Now'

bob_506.jpgI am going to try today to watch my tape of last night's "Costas Now" and watch the British Open live and write a newspaper column simultaneously, so please forgive me for light blogging.

So far I have seen Buzz Bissinger and Will Leitch sitting next to each other enjoying pre-show beers and hot dogs, and even hugging. Now Pete Rose is asking for a second chance.

CBS Radio sent me a Boomer Esiason/Craig Carton bobblehead from the batch handed out at the Cyclones game Monday night. Not a bad likeness of Boomer.

Here's the question: If I can't ethically accept gifts that have value, can I accept this?

There's a bid for one right now on eBay for $5.50. Hmm. Value? Oh, heck, I'm keeping it.

The Joe Benigno/Evan Roberts bobblehead must have gotten lost in the mail.

I thought Costas Now was pretty good, although the Bissinger/Leitch moment was incredibly cheesy. I also thought it worked better than the first town hall special, which if you take away the drama felt disjointed and was a little dull at times.

My only beef with last night was I would have liked to have seen more people involved in the taped segments - for example, the Aaron-Mays package was very well done but it was almost exclusively Bob Gibson & Joe Torre (although both told great stories).

The Beningo/Roberts bobblehead comes out the day after the Jets win their second Super Bowl. Keep watching that mailbox. Don't take youe eye off it, not even for a second.

Neil,

So long as you keep shilling for "Hey Baldie Boy" and Norman Seymour Hoffman, Sr., you'll have a lifetime's supply of bobbleheads.

Oh and I'm quite certain that they'll be VERY VALUABLE once the Cartoon gets canned for his racist banter and Boorish Norm will deliver a show that borders on somnabulism.

Thanks for your complicity in the lowering of standards at that FAN.

Sincerely,

Mark Chernoff
