Long Island's own Eric (Badlands) Booker recently won the New Jersey hot dog eating contest to warm up for the big one in Coney Island Friday.
The news regarding the latter is that the time limit has been trimmed from 12 minutes to the old-school 10 this year, which should make Joey Chestnut's quest to repeat as champ slightly less disgusting.

Unfortunately Booker only has the chance to win local (read NJ) contests. he loses by at least a dozen here friday.
My gym pulled a sick joke on us and put all the TVs of the hot dog eating contest in front of the treadmills and ellipticals. They'll probably do it again this year too. I really hope none of the contestants have a gag reflex like last year. GROSS!
