Let us put into perspective the technical problems that kept the world from watching much of the exciting last few minutes of today's Turkey-Germany game:
It's the NFC Championship Game. Brett Favre goes back to pass in overtime. Corey Webster seems to have a bead on the ball. Then the picture goes blank.
Wow. Not good. I'm surprised the Earth still is spinning as planned on its axis.
(Bonus WatchDog kudos to the first reader to identify the game in the picture.)

Gee Neil, that picture is as small as an amoeba but how about England vs West Germany in 1966 (the goal didn't go in)?? Why not give us George Best in bed with Miss World?
Jim moved from Mike and the Mad Dog to Switzerland.
I'll go with USA v England. 1960?
Could say ESPN deserves what they got for having Reagh & Ray watching on the telly in Bristol instead of being in Basel.
Sorry .. that should be Reagh & GRAY.
USA defeating England in 1950 as depicted in "Game of Their Lives"?
That picture cannot be from a real soccer game.
It has to be a posed shot.
There is NO WAY that 3 soccer players can be in such close physical proximity to each other without one or two of them falling to the ground, writhing in feigned, crumpled agony.
I'm calling it a bogus picture.
Just my opinion.
We have a winner! Turns out Sean Leahy knows about more than just hockey.
Thanks Neil. Do I get a signed copy of Russo's book as my prize? :)
Sean, if you get a book for a prize, it will be a dogeared version that Best stole from his wife, and signed himself.
505, I was beginning to think that you were serious about the Preachy Posts scaring you off. Your observations are one of the things I come here for. Be sure to let us know if you get your own blog.
Thanks for the sentiment anon....
Haven't been scared off....mostly lurking...and the boys at the Vinal Flore have lured me over here with some outstanding pics of Jessica Biel (I am SO easy).
I don't have much, nor do I care, to offer on the whole Mike and Mad Dog story. Fortunately, I live 2 time zones away and do not have readily available access to them.
My experience with them is extremely limited.
HOWEVER, as I have posted on a Yankee blog and the Final Score.....
What few times I have seen them on national media...Mad Dog reminds of the little kid in the sandlot games who never shut up, always insisted on playing 2nd base, and was invariably picked last when it came to choosing up sides.
Francessa reminds me of the kid who always showed up with a supply of bats, bases and balls...and would always take them and go home if he didn't get his way.
Didn't realize I had commented anonymously. It was me, 'Koot.
