What was the latest fight between Dog and Francesa? I remember they fought about the Youkilis-Manny fight, though I'm guessing there was a more recent one.

Anyway, after hearing Francesa, I' be surrpised if there will be a Mike and the Mad Dog program ever again.

I think Francessa is negotiating his next contract by threatening the breakup of the show.

Two things that I pick up on. No.1, Francesa never discuss his contract on the air. And No.2. although Francesa said that the show is at a "crossroads" and his relationship with Dog is what it is, he basically said that he is going to let things play out over the summer and see what happens. Now does that mean Francesa and Russo are parting ways? I'm noy sure, but let's wait and see how it plays out before we make a judgement on this.

I wonder if Mike's comments will add to the fight- Mad Dog can't be too happy since he down played it and Mike clearly feels its a real possibility. Doesn't make Mad Dog look too good.

On the WFAN.com stream right now, instead of replaying Boomer and Carton during the Mets game, they are playing the 15th anniversary show of Mike and Dog from several years ago. Very curious, don't you think?

Just keep one thing in mind as the negotiations progress. Mike Francesa's best buddy is Bill Parcells, who is a master at playing this game and parlaying it into gazillions of dollars.

It's in Francesa's best interest to create a sense of doubt, even if he knows the show will go on. If he makes enough people believe it could be over, and if WFAN really wants to keep him, then WFAN will pony up lots more green to make it happen.

Just a thought.

Mike Francesa is a pompous, know-it-all. You can never call in with a different opinion. He cuts you off or speaks over you and when he is finished being a blabbermouth, you get disconnected.
