Michael Strahan says good-bye to football, hello to TV?
Well . . . there was about a 100 percent chance that our old pal Jay Glazer from Fox was going to be the one to break the retirement news about his close friend Michael Strahan, and here it is.
Strahan is a TV natural, and has a long career ahead of him in that field.
As for that bet I made back in 2001 or '02 with Paul Schwartz of the Post that Strahan would play in the league in '09 . . .
I'm not paying off until the '09 season ends without Strahan suiting up in a game. You never know.

How many members of this era's of Giants get tv and radio jobs and bore us for 40 years like Frank Gifford, Kyle Rote and Pat Summerall from the 50s teams?
Pat Summerall was good. Gifford and Rote not so good. Tiki not so good. Simms very good. Parcells not so good.Fassel is good on the CBS Radio games he does. I hope never to see Shockey again once he quits.
I cast my vote for Ogmedi Nwagbuo as the next post career football TV Giant.
If for no other reason than the Watchdog can extend it's own legacy by keeping a running tally on how many times his name is misspelled by the TV caption guys.
And just imagine what it will do to Madden's career if he is teamed up with him and John has to introduce him each week by name?
Eh, never mind, he'll just call him the Wizard of Og.
Me and Strahan 'don't get along', so I won't comment. Besides Pierce was the leader on that defense. He emerged as the leader last year, and he was the leader of that Super Bowl defense. They won't miss this guy one bit.
Strahan was a good not great player...good not great. Strahan was just being Strahan while DiMaggio was just being DiMaggio. i get the Direct TV package and have seen Strahan be Strahan. He was good not great.
Francessa said that Stru-Han used to walk next to him as a young player side by side and would never talk to him. If that is really the origin of the whole beef between them than that is weak.
