ESPN2 to reorient its tennis scoreboard horizontally!
Almost forgot: I wrote a Friday newspaper column!
The main item is about Tiger Woods and TV ratings and tennis and . . . well, it's just a messy mishmash. And it does not mention Ana Ivanovic (pictured at right).
I participated in the ESPN conference call about Wimbledon and learned the network will be showing approximately 20 billion hours from the event.
The most interesting thing I heard is the scoreboard will be reoriented in a horizontal fashion across the top of the screen, like during Fox's NFL coverage, to lessen the problem of it covering up important areas during the action.
I have heard complaints about on-screen tennis scoreboards from several readers. So this presumably is a good thing.

On my screen the score is too high up and unreadable.
