Chris Russo identifies key issue: Big Brown's a horse!

As I mentioned in my Sunday column on the Belmont . . . Deal with it America: Chris Russo was right.

Actually, he stated his case more coherently and succinctly on his Saturday show than he did in this clip from during the week. He suggested the favored horse might simply get up on the wrong side of the bed, or words to that effect.

Yes, I know horses don't sleep in beds. But the gist of Russo's point was on target, assuming there is not something physically wrong with Big Brown:

What if he just wasn't in the mood on the big day, seeing as how . . .well, he didn't necessarily know it was a big day. He's a horse!

As soon as the race finished.....I could have sworn I heard a cackle coming from the direction of New Canaan

Let's face it, Dog was right for once- and let him have his day tomorrow to gloat- every Dog has his day!

So it'll be a classic Fatso and Froot Loops Monday.
Might even listen in ... since they're only on radio until the Janks finish up Monday afternoon ....
The all-knowing Mikey on horses, Jobuh and the poor state of Mets baseball in NYC. Chris countering on the size of the equine brainpan, which can resemble his own on a bad day ....
Maybe a little Jim McKay, without whom those two dopes wouldn't exist on the air ...

It was really a poor job by ABC. I know Big Brown is the story, but Da'Tara went wire-to-wire and they hardly mentioned him or his jockey until long after the race was over. It was too bad they couldn't spend a few minutes on the winner before beating the story of the loser into the ground.
