Good luck with your recovery, Phil Hughes, but I'm out

phil-hughes.jpgHere is the complete version of my Friday newspaper column.

Craig Carton currently is on the radio still expressing skepticism about the Phil Hughes injury. So I guess the apology I call for in said column is not forthcoming this a.m.

And I guess it's time for me to turn off the radio now, to preserve what is left of my mental health.

Neil, do they pay you enough to put you thru listening to Carton daily? Its torture.

I agree with Bo

Carton was arguably worse today as he still thinks it's all fake.

Thankfully I'm not around NYC to listen to this stuff, but it appears as if he says this stuff to get his name out there. If he truly believes any of the stuff he has said that I've read about here, he is incompetent and a moron and should be fired

Neil - I don't think you listened to Francesa yesterday afternoon when he went after blogs and bloggers. Said Bloggers were 'vile' and unforgiving, said there were no contraints on a blog and that is why the language is crude. Did he tell you he knows anything about a blog???? Most blogs have rules and language restraints - we all know that. Then of course, Russo chimed in to say he had never seen anyone with a computer on a train, only with a newspaper to rea. Has He ever heard of laptops??

They are in the Dark Ages of media.

Max: I heard the discussion about blogs. I just couldn't bring myself to make fun of it. I'm old and tired.

And, in fairness, some of the stuff on blogs certainly is "vile."

Don't sell yourself short, this is an erudite blog as are most involving media and sports.

Erudite!? Wow.

To touch on what Max said Francessa completely switched his opinion on blogs at first calling it free speech to saying the government should regulate it all.

Max: I heard the discussion and I got the impression they were not talking about blogs like this one, run by a legitimate print journalist who is in the industry, who has to answer to people and cannot just haphazardly write whatever they want.

Unfortunately there are just as many blogs and sites that are run anonymously where people are free to say whatever they choose. Often times those can be "nasty and vile".
