In the early months, the energy behind the blog's growth was generated primarily by the Don Imus saga and by the loyalty and passion of his fans.
In recognition, I'm giving the Friday comment contest award this week to an entire thread of comments here that reminded me of the good old days of 2007, when every Imus post would generate dozens of responses.
Warning for parents and Craig Carton: There is some rough stuff here. But Carton can take it.
Many people think I'm some sort of Carton/Boomer apologist. Sorry, not guilty. Every time I've written about the show I've tried to stay mostly neutral, because that's the way I feel about it.
It's grown on me and I usually enjoy it in small doses, but on the other hand Carton undeniably can be crass and sophomoric and stuff involving other fancy words.
If you don't like him, turn to another channel, or go to the library and take out a book on tape. "War and Peace" should take care of at least a week worth of commutes on the LIE.

Neil we know your are not an "In the Tank" supporter of the Carton and Esiason show. I like to call them "Cartoon and BoomBag" show.
And during the months that Imus was off we always relied on you to keep us up to date on things as we went about our business of trying to re-arrange our lives around "NO IMUS IN THE MORNING".
And the once avid supporters of Imus have in many respects, become negative due to him becoming a little bit more Politically correct. Well tough doo doo on them. J.Donald Imus is no fool. He knows which side his bread is buttered on. And it's not being irreverent to the wrong people any more.
So as a supporter of Imus and the current gang, I thank you. And thank all that you have done over these many months.
You are a gentlemen and a scholar. And if you get negative comments from the nuts at the under belly of "Imus Truth", not the real supporters of Imus, please set them straight. They need the voice of authority to put them in line.

Neil, Bruce has some anger issues about Imus Truth. Some posters at Imus Truth may be a little too passionate, and most are very creative, but Truth is, we love the Iman and always will.

Unfortunately or fortunately (in my case) life gets extremely busy...like working full time and then taking care of your grandchild everyday and weekends so even though I may not always have time to leave a comment I do stop by to read your blog.

I shall clarify my comment by "Imus Truth". And I don't apologize for what I said earlier.
"Imus Truth" was the pre-eminent site when Don Imus was fired. That is where all the displaced Imus listeners and watchers went to vent our anger. It was a most positive site and 80 percent of it is today.
But something happened since this election cycle began, and the main posters left the site for "IMUS TIMES" lead by true leaders and communicators.

There is just those 20 percent that have turned off the main stream posters. And though "nut From Imus Truth says " I have some anger issues with that site. I do. The most anger is the webmaster is not a communicator and allows the disrespecting of the "New Imus Show". I was banned from that site for defending myself against a few posters that were attacking me needlessly.
So my opinion stands. And nothing will change it.
But as everyone has said so far to you. You are and have been our guiding light during the almost 8 months without I-Man. And will re-iterate what I said. Everyone from both sites thank you.
