ESPN ombudswoman slathers on the Mayo

mayo.htmHere is the latest from the always insightful ESPN ombudsman - shouldn't it be ombudsperson? - Le Anne Schreiber.

Synopsis:

O.J. Mayo coverage: good.

Miguel Tejada coverage: less so.

My career plan is to cover the sports media/business beat for another seven years, for an even 10, then help out around the office getting Mr. Dolan's coffee and such for another five years or so, then semi-retire and become ESPN's ombudsman.

First order of business: Suggest that Don Cherry become the lead SportsCenter anchor.

Don Cherry - Because what the US needs are more Xenophobes

Only problem with Grapes is, once a majority of TVs are receiving in HD, his suits would start causing them to catch fire, leading to more Cablevision service calls.

(Also, on a prior post? Mex may be well-read, and even well-written, but even I know that Jimmy Carter never actually used the word malaise in that speech.)

Excellent work on the Carter trivia, Ray. I did not know that, even though I remember watching the speech, of course.

Neil, Since I've read every Watchdog post since you started (and will continue to do so for the rest of its existence), and since I went to Cornell and was Sports Editor at The Sun (like you!), can I take over your spot in seven years? I feel like it's only fitting...

C'mon Black and Gold!!!!

Slamming Grapes???

He's the best thing for hockey since Slap Shot.
It's a shame that he is being wasted on ESPN right now....cuz... I haven't seen him yet.
Versus should have him before and after every game. (But then Glauber wouldn't be able to see him).
