This is a mildly amusing observation about a shot of the big city that ESPN showed during the Mets-Yanks tilt Sunday night.
Not a big deal compared to some other stuff that went on during the ESPN presentation, of course (more about that in Tuesday's newspaper). And in fairness the blimp that would have offered live shots was grounded due to weather issues, and it wasn't as if ESPN claimed it was a live shot.
Whatever. Here is a statement from ESPN about this: "It was a taped image, which are commonly used during transitional shots."
Just wanted to clear all that up for you. You're welcome.

Silly stuff.
And does WCBS-880 have a full orchestra or band in the studio 24-7 for those silly little music hooks and bumpers? No, they're all in digital storage somewhere.
The leagues and networks all have stock footage of cities and arenas that are used in all network and regional live games as bumpers, etc.
You think a chopper hovers over the Garden each day/night there's a game? Yankee Stadium? Shea [between flights at LGA]???
You think Newsday sends a photog out for a stock shot of The House That Ruth Built each and every time one is needed?
Newsday of course will just grab stills off tv [saves $] to get new shots of MSG, the Mausoleum and The Rock each time a game is broadcast on a Cablevision-owned network ...
The highlight for me last night was learning that the curvature of the stands caused Delgado's ball to be foul.
I never knew that about baseball.
(Although MIller's crack about the curvature of the earth was priceless).
I fear that one of these days Joe Morgan will venture so far out that he will fall off the edge of the earth.
(Cuz I DO like the guy.....but he is really starting to scare me).
I love how Morgan just kept on talking about Reyes and Jeter about how they move is dancing. Call me cynical but was Morgan using Jose's Sports Center commercial as his source?
