I took a break from the Willie Randolph saga on the radio Wednesday to talk to Christopher Bell (the guy on the left) about his interesting documentary, "Bigger, Stronger, Faster," which will premiere on LI the first week of next month.
More about that then.
The weird thing was that we inadvertently agreed to meet at an Irish pub near Penn Station, forgetting the Chelsea-Man. U. game would be on at that time. There were many Brits in the house.
Let's just say there were a number of times we had to pause the conversation to wait for the shouting to die down. Pretty cool.

Mixed emotions about Terry. He is the EPL equivalent to Derek Jeter by the press so he can be hard to root for as an Arsenal fan but I felt bad that based on extraordinary circumstances that the kick came down to him and he slipped up.
Drogna is probably not coming back. His career with Chelsea ends with a slap at Vidic.
Avram Grant is probably gone. I feel bad for him but some of his substitutions could have been so much better especially since of all of the substitions by Sir Alex were ace.
Roman Abramovich will now overpay for strikers and a new coach. Business as usual. Why did he still have a smirk on his face when Terry slipped?
Felt bad for Lampard only because his mother died.
Ronaldo got his humble pie getting stopped by Cech on his barely legal hesitation kick.
Good for Giggs getting the game-winning goal.
Ballack should be Chelsea's scape goat but Drogna and Terry saved him from absolute embarrassment. I cannot remember seeing so many kicks from a player sail over the net.
Scholes was true grit.
I hate both teams but I can say objectively that Chelsea lost this one not just in penalty kicks but so many corner kicks in the second interval to get a scoring shot and penalty kicks it was ridiculous.
I wonder if a penalty shootout is the best way to decide a championship game but I can't think of a really better one. An overtime that ends with a "golden goal"? Might go on forever.
Renaldo went from being a hero to a would-be goat to reprieved. SAF made some key substitutions that helped Man Uts win it. I saw where he said he read the recent biography on Vince Lombardi and saw a lot of himself in him. Always great to see Sir Bobby Charlton then and for Man Utd to win the double on the 50th year anniversary of the Munich Air Disaster.
