You'd think Joba punched Frank Thomas rather than air

dancingfeet.gifI turned on Chris Russo's Saturday show at 12:48 p.m.

Two of the first four callers wanted to talk about Joba Chamberlain pumping his fist after a strikeout . . . Tuesday.

I turned off the radio and wondered why I didn't pursue a career that would have had some benefit to society, such as dance instructor.

Sal from the Bronx and Vinny from Staten Island just can't get over a corn farmer celebrating. And Russo loves it because he hasn't had to pay attention to anything else for 5 days.

Be careful what you wish for. One of my 7th grade students is a professional dancer and everytime he misses out on a part after an audition, he's blaming his instructor. He's always second guessing the instructor and complaining that he's being taught the wrong routine for the part he doesn't get. It's a good thing for the instructor that they don't have an all dance radio format or else he'd be getting raked over the coals during afternoon drive time.

It's contagious. I turned on Warner Wolf on 1050 and he was discussing it with a caller. The witty erudite conversations of sophisticated New Yorkers.
Have Mike and the Mad Dog discussed what music has their approval for Chamberlain's appearance?

Who cares? The local hockey teams were playing each other with one of them fighting for playoff seating. To quote Joe Benigno "Some guys on the radio just don't like talking about hockey" or to that effect. It seemed like that was a shot at Russo and Francessa who's great exploits in promoting the station's hockey team, the New Jersey Devils, was referring to Martin Brodeur as "the goalie" and Russo stating that Mike Richter was better than Brodeur.

The only thing more pathetic than this was Russo and Francessa spending half their show talking Mantle v. Mays that included a bunch of old timers calling in talking about their man-crush on The Mick.

when did the lockout end? i never hear hockey talk, ever.

CMG- you need to remember this is a baseball town. I guarantee if you stood on any random corner in midtown and asked random people to name 2 current NY Rangers, maybe 1 in 25 would be able to do so. I have a feeling the percentage will be much higher if you ask someone to name 2 current NY Yankees

I'm still trying to figure out why Fenway Park wasn't shut down until that killer hawk was allowed to hatch and raise it's youngun...

The nest and egg were REMOVED?

Where are/were the environmentalists?
Where are the protests?
Where is the outrage?
Here was a perfect opportunity for a demonstration of our commitment to Mother Nature.
Shut down the rat infested smorgasbord until the natural cycle took it's course....
Cuz, let's face it....what is ultimately better for the only green patch of grass in all of Boston?
Nonbiodegradable drippings from the ooze within Manny's dreadlocks?
Or pure and natural hawkschit?

I'm e-mailing Ted Kennedy.
