Yankees mist-out still myst-ifying
I'm so far behind I didn't get a chance to use the stuff from fans/readers kind enough to e-mail Monday night with their tales of the Yankees' weird mist-out.
Here is one, from Clay Caviness of Jersey City:
My wife and I were at the game today, and I'm baffled at the complete and total lack of rain.
Before I left, I checked the radar - nothing much around the city, but a big mess up north. But luckily it was all going east! Nothing was heading for the city, the game would go on!
We get to the stadium around 12:30 and it's kinda misting/drizzling, and we hear there's a delay. No problem, I think, knowing the radar was clear. They'll get this underway quickly. After a lot of drama and some nice acting by Cashman, Girardi, and an unknown man as the inspected the field, they tell us it may not get done. Then, around 2:30, they call it and we leave...
In the meantime, I noted that the drizzle had all but stopped by 1:15.
Back at the office, I fire up the radar again, and IT LOOKS JUST THE SAME. No rain over the city, just some weather up north. Nothing coming in. All afternoon I glance out the window and not a drop falls. I get home, and now it's 10:30 pm and there is still NO RAIN.
Baffled, Clay.
