Chet Hoff was retired when Yankee Stadium opened

Here is something a loyal reader tipped me off to. It's video of Chet Hoff, who died 10 years ago at age 107, making him the longest-lived former major leaguer. He struck out Ty Cobb in his debut for Our Highlanders in 1911.

This has nothing to do with anything, but it's interesting, I guess.

Hmm...reminds me of this funny video featuring Roger Clemens

This is a great little gem of a story that's one of hundreds on a website called growingbolder.com. Check it out. Go Highlanders. I mean Yanks.

BTW Chet is not only the longest living former major-leaguer - he's the longest living former professional athlete of any kind - ever. That's historical, dude. Thanks to Neil for finding this unusual piece.
