USFL was born 25 years ago today; ESPN offers tribute
ESPN Classic has been doing a better job in recent months of doing what it should be doing: Giving us weird, old stuff rather than endless poker and billiards and American Gladiators reruns.
Another example: As my counterpart at the LA Daily News points out in his blog, today the channel will pay tribute to the USFL on the 25th anniversary of its birth.
(You'll have to translate the times mentioned from Pacific to Eastern, assuming you live in the same time zone I do. You can do it! It's easy. Just make it three hours later)
By the way, Sean Landeta picked this day to retire officially, making him the last USFL player officially to leave the playing ranks. Sigh.
