Red alert: Cornell is in the NCAA Tournament

bear.gifThere now is one team in the big dance.

So if no one else shows up, we win, right?

OK, maybe not. But still . . . congratulations, Big Red.

If the committee does the right thing and gives us a No. 12 seed or better, I will guarantee a first-round NCAA Tournament victory.

We've had 20 years to study the mistakes that were made against Arizona in that 90-50 loss the last time around. We'll do better this time.

(UPDATE: What makes Saturday night's hammering of Harvard even better is this story in the Ivy League's Paper of Record that will be profoundly embarrassing to our friends in Cambridge. My suggestion: Kick Harvard out of the league and replace it with Stony Brook, an institution with high academic and athletic standards that is free of scandal.)

Neil, I'm washing my eyes out. The NYT is a no go zone for me, especially the sports pages after the childish anti Augusta jihad, more so for the perverse water carrying on behalf of the felon Nifong. Amazing stuff, they had a reporter that was on the facts, replaced him to get their PC narrative across.
The Harvard angle is not surprising. Those that can not compete with the Big Red cheat or die. I'm hearing Clemens is taking over their baseball program in the Fall.

Congrats on Cornell, Neil.

It just speaks further to how absurd, pathetic, unfathomable it is that the largest school in the metropolitan area hasn't been to the NCAA Tournament since 1991.

Sorry, forgot to sign my name to the last post. At least the RU women's team can provide some degree of consolation!

I wonder if they'll match us up against RPI.

They always seem to get in to the tournament every year even though I've never heard of their league.
