ESPN360.com showing 42 events today, including lax
No less than three of my p.r. pals from ESPN e-mailed me about this, so it must be important:
Today the Bristol Stompers' broadband service, ESPN360.com, will stream a record 42 live sports events, including 35 men's and women's college basketball games, plus auto racing, soccer, rodeo, rugby and lacrosse.
(That's Neil Best of the Irish national rugby squad in the picture. My fourth favorite active athlete after Jeff Feagles, Sue Bird and Dikembe Mutombo.)
UPDATE: As commentor WaWa correctly pointed out, most LIers do not have access to this service from their Internet provider at this time. I should have mentioned that.)

Too bad re: ESPN 360.
You need a broadband internet connection to get it.
Neither Optimum [Cablevision] nor Road Runner [Time Warner NYC] carry the service.
Maybe the 4500 people on LI who have Verizon's FiOS can get it.
So Newsday's core market is SOL for ESPN 360.
Wawa: You are correct about the relatively limited distribution.
The next leg of the UEFA Cup on The Deuce next week. Go Gunners!
