WatchDog baffled by elephants/donkeys in Congress
I apparently missed something in all the coverage leading up to the Clemens hearings, and I assume many of you share my surprise over this:
I had no idea Congress' take on the Clemens/McManee situation would break so sharply along party lines.
I believe this entire spectacle is an absurd waste of my tax dollars, but that's beside the point.
Will someone explain to me how and why Republicans are for Rog and Democrats are for McNamee? I hate to be naive, but what the heck am I missing here?

Very strange how the GOP is supporting Roger and the Democrats for McNamee. I wonder how this came about.
Hmmm...how about Texas is a "red" state and New York is a "blue" state?
Roger made 28 million last year, and McNamee needs a job.

Here is a link with Clemens (apparently) saying he is "very close to the Bush family."
I was wondering the same thing. Is it, in part, due to the fact that the Mitchell of the Mitchell report is George Mitchell? And Mitchell's compadres are supporting the report, and thus McNamee?
I am also wondering how these sons of bitches have managed to denigrate this hearing into a partisan orgy simply to further their misguided and ultimately irrelevent party interests. I have no vested interest either way other than to learn the truth.
Pathetically, these dregs have managed to embarass themeselves and those that voted them into office. No wonder everyone hates these schmucks as they continue to prostitute themselves for some twisted party gain. What is more disturbing is that these institutions from which we expect the truth, justice, and morality in their actions have failed us once again.
I for one am tired of having to explain to my two boys why those that have put themselves in a position of leadership are incapable of conducting themselves with integrity and honesty. My only hope is that there are others like myself who are willing to hold these dregs accountable and throw them the hell out.
And finally, as a Connecticut resident, I was disturbed to listen to Christopher Shays rambling self important lecture? I do not see how it is that he thinks it appropriate as a public servant to shill for a particular position rather than to try to work toward a result of ensuring that our children will not be tempted to hurt themselves by using steroids or HGH. The man's inflated sense of self strikes me as a detriment to his ability to effectively serve the desires of his district and he should be removed.
Most GOP congresspeople were in office during the Clinton years and Rusty Hardin was on Ken Starr's legal team. That's the only think I can think about since guys like Burton treat the Starr report like the bible.
How polarized is this country that the members of congress can't even agree on the Mitchell Report, which some GOP members seemed to hold with little regard during the hearing, and that with lots of evidence and association pointing in his direction that Roger Clemens took PEDs?
