I didn't have time Sunday night to drive around Suffolk County to figure out just how far the signal for WLIR (107.1-FM) reaches with its simulcast of ESPN 1050's programming.
I know in East Northport there only was music at that spot on the dial. Some readers helped me out on this weeks ago, just after the simulcast began, but now I'm asking for an update.
Western Suffolk still is in a border zone where 1050's signal is unreliable, but those of you in central and eastern Suffolk please let me and your fellow readers know how the WLIR option is working out - especially after dark.

I just remember the guys behind the glass at 660 AM when it was headquartered in a major Midtown tourist attraction and I saw some of those guys upstairs getting lunch. Only skinny guy among them was the fellow Imus called the "Flash", now retired in Florida.

Jack Lalanne once broadcast a show from the Zorn's parking lot in 1958. Traffic was jammed up into the Dunkin Donuts parking lot on Stewart Avenue. Nassau County's finest were were directing traffic at that location.
