Meanwhile, in the Senate . . .
Arlen Specter (R-Comcast) got his crack at Roger Goodell today.
I hope he feels better now.
(UPDATE: Apparent not.)

I am always surprised at the lack of knowledge Americans have about the representatives they elect and the Congress/Government of their country.
Senator Specter is acting under the 1961 Anti Trust Exemption which gives the Congress authorization for the oversight of MLB and the NFL in interstate commerce matters.
Both Specter and the much maligned Chairman Waxman are just doing their jobs.
Oy.
I'm with Annie on this. I should say that I'm dismayed, but not surprised, that a nation of American Idle watchers don't know who their representatives are, much less what they do. I'm certain that Specter, Waxman, et al would gladly step aside if MLB gave up their precious anti-trust exemption.
Specter gladly would step aside if Comcast was given access to "Sunday Ticket."
Quite frankly Goodell scheduling that meeting on Wednesday was genius. Specter should realize Goodell ain't no dummy. He knows Specter is an opportunist. Goodell's daddy was a US Senator. Now I wasn't around when Chuck Goodell was the Junior Senator from NY so I can't say if he was a politic panderer but Roger was probably exposed to a lot of panderers who were his father's former colleagues. He knows how the Specters of the world work.
