Kate Mara remembers Plaza suite sitdown w/WatchDog
I had a nice chat with Kate Mara - granddaughter of Wellington, great-granddaughter of Art Rooney, etc. - Friday night at the annual bash commonly known as the "commissioner's party,'' which was held at an aviation museum very far from downtown.
I was just happy she remembered me from my visit to her hotel room late in '06 . . . for an interview about the film "We are Marshall."
Ms. Mara said this is her fourth Super Bowl - the past three involving the Giants as well as the one in San Diego in 2003. She was too young for Super Bowl XXI.
I asked her what projects she is working on now. She informed me there is a strike going on among writers, thus there is not much work for anyone in Hollywood. Oh. Sorry.
(Update: A loyal reader asked whether I discussed with Kate the recent death of Heath Ledger, with whom she worked on "Brokeback Mountain." I did not. But she was quoted earlier this week saying this: "I got the chance to spend some time with him, and he talked a lot about his family, because I have the same name as his sister. It is so sad, and I just hope his family are given the chance to grieve.")

Scarlett who?
Wow.
Did Miss Mara also sing the National Anthem a while ago before a game? Or was that another Mara grandchild?
Wow.
red hot, more pictures please.
Yes, she has sung the anthem many times.
Yo, stop with the "hot" comments. Her father, Chris, also was there while we were chatting. Some decorum, please.
How about attractive?
is it me,or do the maras remind of you of the kennedys?
As a transplanted Jersey product who has lived in and around Plastiville (LA Metro) for twenty years, I wonder, why is 'hot' such a bad way to describe Ms Mara?
She is (based upon all available information) both physically attractive and intellectually adept.
Our generation could grasp the many meanings of the idiotic phrase 'cool' (including the surfer/SoCal addition of 'dude' which has recently grown a whole new commercial vocabulary). Hot is the new cool. Or was, about a decade ago.
I was never as grateful as on the day our last child was determined to be another boy. If someone thinks they're hot, that's cool.
