Giants' public relations poobah is a star himself
Here is an article from the Chambersburg (Pa.) Public Opinion about Pat Hanlon, the Giants' VP of communications and one of the more colorful characters in the sports p.r. business.
I am quoted in it - not entirely accurately in some spots, but close enough, I suppose - along with John Mara and Ernie Accorsi.
Hanlon has managed a difficult trick in this market during his 15 years on the job, feeding the voracious New York media beast most of what it needs to do its job while being tough and ornery enough to avoid getting trampled in the process.
(At Super Bowl XXXV, Hanlon was seen signing autographs in the team hotel lobby. I assume fans can't even find the Giants at their isolated hotel here, but I've only been there once, because it's so . . . isolated.)
