ESPN politely declines to fire back at NBC

arringtoncbs.jpgWhat kind of poor excuse for a tabloid columnist would fail to dig up more dirt in the wake of Wednesday's juicy USA Today story on NBC's football people ripping ESPN's football people and then follow up with a story in the Friday newspaper?

Me, alas. I did ask ESPN whether any of its executives involved with "Monday Night Football" cared to comment on NBC's lead football director accusing them of having no idea what they are doing.

ESPN politely declined the invitation.

So for now our newspaper-only readers are going to have to wait until I have more time to flesh out this budding feud, which should add to the fun of next football season.

(That's Jill Arrington in the photo. She has nothing to do with this other than being an example of the "eye candy" era of sideline reporters Andrea Kremer referenced in her USA Today rant. If you had 5 p.m. Feb. 14 in Glauber's pool, you win.)

I WIN!!!!
And Best, ergo, is a briefs or boxer guy.

Best,

Have you lost your mind? Did you really crack not 2 hours after you promised not to do this?!?!?

Scratch the "I Win", Call me an old Chicago Tribune headline writer. I jumped the gun.
Peter won. I am distraught.

Oh, the pain....
Ya couldn't wait another 9 minutes, eh Best?
Not only that, now your readers will never know if you are a boxer/briefs or a depends guy.
Oh, the agony of defeat.

But I'll carry on....

Glauber,

"Have you lost your mind?"

You should know better.
An old Allman Brothers tune.....
"Can't lose whatcha never had".

Best has outdone himself.

Andrea Kremer, you left ESPN, I think. Just let it go and be happy you're no longer part of that network who seems to be more about buzzwords, soundbites, college humor, and catering to the lowest common denominator. You don't see David Aldridge or Chris Myers saying anything, though they're men, they were also sideline reporters at the WWLIS who were smart enough to leave and do other things like say, reporting.

I blame myself because I mentioned Jill "Harrington" in the comments on the original post. She actually wasn't an airhead and knew football pretty well. There was a good reason too, but I forget why.
David Aldridge got released by ESPN because they preferred Stephen A. Smith to do the jobs he did. Lucky us!
