Congress is really starting to tick me off now

henry_waxman.jpgOn rare occasions I link to stories in competing papers, and no one has stopped me yet, so I guess I'll keep doing it when I believe it serves our readers.

Here is a story that offers new insights into Wednesday's silly Clemens/McNamee hearing and its shockingly, embarrassingly partisan nature.

It makes everyone look even worse than before, if that's possible.

And yet . . . the battle Sen. Arlen Specter (R-Comcast) is waging against the NFL is even sillier. Can't the NFL just set up the guy with a "Sunday Ticket" subscription to get him off its back?

Here is an interesting tidbit that illustrates the power Comcast wields: Philadelphia, where the company is based, has the smallest percentage of satellite TV customers of any major market in the nation, partly because the Phillies are not on satellite TV there. Sigh.

Specter is an absolute disgrace. A shill for Comcast, and no basic principles of decency anywhere to be found.

This coming from a lifelong Republican and non Patriots fan.

As opposed to Neil Best who is a shill for the NFL? Gotta love Neil for knowing which side his Super Bowl bread was going to be buttered.

Specter isn't just a shill, he is THE SHILL for Comcast. He's on the board of directors. How is this not a conflict of interest? The fact that Specter says himself that he only cared about asking of the Patriot Way was because he was afraid his beloved Eagles were jobbed shows that this is all just petty phanatic nonsense. No Arlen, your Iggles lost because Donovan McNabb was in a complete dry-heeze and horrible clock management by Andy "Coaching The Pro Bowl Again" Reid. Rep. Patrick Murphy voted against an bill congratulating the NY Giants and used his Iggles fan card. Not that I wanted a congrats from Congress since they have better things to do (Heard that before?) but it just gives me another reason to despise Philadelphia sports phans.

'"...but it just gives me another reason to despise Philadelphia sports phans."

Ya better not pout,
Ya better not cry,
Ya better not shout,
I'm tellin' you why.........

Thank God the Fed's came up with the DNA-activated hand held device that allows cadavers to continue to elucidate. (Tested successfully on Strom Thurmond in the late 90's)...Otherwise people like Specter, Kennedy, Byrd, Stevens and Domenici (to name a few) would be finally put away.
