I screened a documentary on extreme skiing called "Steep" during the ESPN portion of the Tribeca Film Festival last spring. Now it is being shown at the Angelika in Manhattan.
I've only been downhill skiing twice, once in Alaska in 1983 (did pretty well) and once in Massachusetts in 2005 (not good). But I found the film fascinating, not only because of the lunatics involved in the sport and their techniques, but also because of the filmmaking challenge itself.
Often with extreme skiing footage, it looks as if the person taking the pictures is in more danger than the person in the pictures.
