Fans of SNY's "Kids Clubhouse" are in for a difficult period of adjustment this spring. It's true: Host Amanda Coles' two-year reign is over.
(She didn't do anything wrong! She just moved on with her career, apparently. She is in the recent movie "Across the Universe." Relax!)
SNY now is in the market for a replacement and plans to pursue one publicly, starting Saturday.
From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the channel will hold an open casting call at its studios on Sixth Avenue and 51st Street before three judges, including SNY senior VP Curt Gowdy Jr. and not including me.
Hopefuls must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and be between the ages of 14 and 18. I would strongly recommend being perky and not using any sentence that includes the phrase "seven-game lead with 17 to play."

Given that Amanda Cole is the daughter of gazillionaire shoe designer Kenneth Cole and granddaughter of minor leaguer-turned-Governor Mario Cuomo--and that the contest is being judged by one Curt Gowdy, Jr.--it just might help to have famous lineage.
SNY stinks. First Julie Donaldson is leaving (any idea where?) and this morning I had to watch Carlin and Beningo argue about Clemens. I flipped to the non HD SNY so I wouldn't puke.
How about "Screech" Roberts? It would at least get him off midday!

I hate DNL and how since nobody good from the Daily News, except occasionally Rubin, Feisand, and Weiss are on, so they bring these sports talk wannabes and turn it into what ESPN has done to (ruin) PTI. Also, anybody notice Chris Cotter whenever talking about a player brings up his hot girlfriend and goes on a minute tangent completely gushing?
Neil, please go on the show! Raissman and his moustache should NOT be the practical trademark of the show. Plus he's just a media guy, you have done work on the sports teams and you don't take personal shots at people the way he does. That's our job! ; )

Raissman is a clown. Plain and simple. I actually saw him running the Central Park resevoir but didn't heckle him. Seriously, Al-Yankazeera and MSGulag? Comparing two sports entities to places of torture and death. My grandfather survived a Soviet Gulag. F-it, I should have punched him when I had the chance.
In all seriousness, I'm think the Breslins. Abigail (Olive from Little Miss Sunshine) or Spencer since they are actually Mets fans and certainly young enough.
Neil can report on SNY, but really can't appear on it.
