ESPN suspends Dana Jacobson after roast rant
Here is another example of what I wrote below about teammates having my back during this busy Super Bowl fortnight.
I meant to follow up on the Dana Jacobson situation over at ESPN when I got back from my latest tape session with Ron Jaworski this morning.
But Ed Sherman of our sister paper, the Chicago Tribune, beat me to it.
Seems Ms. Jacobson - a co-host of "First Take" - has been suspended for her unfortunate (and evidently alcohol-fueled) comments at a recent Mike and Mike roast.

i knew there was a problem when she asked archie manning if oreos came in a voldka flavor.
Indeed, I left a comment with a link to an AC press reporting of the incident on one of your posts over the weekend. It was ugly.
Thanks for the Dana photo!
Check the anon 10:11 comment on your "oblong ball.." post.
Anon: My sources tell me she said "Touchdown F------ Jesus," not "F--- Jesus."
Neither is acceptable, but one is far worse than the other, I believe.
A group called the "Christian Defense Coalition" Disagrees... this could get ugly.

WASHINGTON, Jan. 23 /Christian Newswire/ -- Group to lead a public demonstration and prayer vigil outside of ESPN Headquarters in Bristol, Connecticut, on Friday, January 25, at 12:00 noon.
Coalition says hate speech, bigotry, and religious intolerance should have no place in the public square and the only proper response for ESPN is to release Ms. Jacobson.
Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney, Director of the Christian Defense Coalition, comments, "Hate speech, and religious intolerance should have no place in American society. When we see these things raise their ugly head, it is critical that people of good will unite together and prayerfully stand against such bigotry and prejudice. By publicly saying, 'F--k Jesus,' while representing ESPN, Dana Jacobson has crossed a very well defined line. Her comments are so outrageous and inflammatory that the only proper response for ESPN is to immediately release her. A week suspension is simply not enough and sends a message that ESPN tolerates this kind of behavior and speech.
"Imagine the outrage if Ms. Jacobson said, 'F--k Mohammed,' 'F--k Jews,' or 'F--k African Americans.' Although the faith community can forgive and extend mercy to Ms. Jacobson, she still must assume full responsibility and accept the consequences for her hate-filled rhetoric."

Bill Donaghue is the white Al Sharpton. Jacobsen never said "F##k Jesus". She asked Charlie Weis, and according the a reporter covering the event was obscenely drunk slurring her words and having to be taken off stage, "What the f##k is Touchdown Jesus?" with a bottle of vodka in her hand and she went on to yell out, she's a Michigan grad, "F##k Notre Dame" the alma mater of Weis and the one of the targets of the roast Mike Golic. Jacobsen doesn't even register on the more embarrassing moments that happened to an ESPN anchor. Gary Miller, Neil Everett, Sean Salisbury, Keith Olbermann, and Scott van Pelt all laugh at the Catholic League.
i thought we had freedom of speach
