Dale Jarrett replaces Rusty Wallace as race analyst
Dale Jarrett will replace Rusty Wallace as ESPN's lead race analyst for the NASCAR season.
Rusty will be the lead analyst for studio programs.
And I will become a newspaper columnist and disappear for the rest of the afternoon. I'm going to do my best to run out the clock on my first page views championship - but with a week to go in January and the Giants blog gearing up for a huge week in Arizona, it is going to be very, very difficult.
Help!.
Enjoy Kelly Tilghman's latest - and last, I hope - apology at 3 p.m. on The Golf Channel.

If Dale is anywhere near as good as his father, he will do a great job in the booth.
Ned Jarrett was one of the reasons why I fell in love with NASCAR and Rusty Wallace as my favorite driver.
If you want to see a real heartwarming moment, watch the tape of Ned Jarrett calling the Daytona 500 that Dale won in 1993. It was one of the few times I had tears welling in my eyes.
Mrs. WatchDog once had a business meeting with Dale when Band-Aid was sponsoring his car. She has an uncut sheet of Dale cards. They're like baseball cards, only for NASCAR.
What is the worse faux pas: Rusty Wallace referring to the Indianapolis 500 as "Daytona" when he was IRL analyst two years ago or last year Brad Daugherty saying Matt Kenseth was in danger of not making Daytona because of poor times (he was guaranteed a spot with owners points)? More examples of ESPN hiring people who don't know anything.
Let's hope Ned Jarrett does a good job but the best analysts tend to be the guys who are a little loopy and spurt out honesty, like Eddie Cheever Jr was a few years ago when ESPN did Formula 1 races. Robby Gordon might be better if his team fails and no one hires him because of his personality. Unfortunately he lost money when the Dakar rally was cancelled because of terrorist..
