Will snow put Jets-Patriots point spread on ice?

snowstorm.jpgDave Tuley, the sports betting columnist for the Daily Racing Form who was quoted in my Tuesday newspaper column, weighed in with a column of his own on the subject here.

It looks like the point spread will continue to drift downward as long as early predictions for snow and wind Sunday hold up.

No matter how much Bill Belichick hates Eric Mangini, it's difficult to score 73 points in a blizzard.

In football, bad weather is the great equalizer. The Dolphins have had their best chances to win games in the slop of Wembley and Heinz. While I don't think the Jets will win, if the bad weather hits (we know not to believe meteorologists until the actual day of the forecast), they'll keep it close.

Is this a picture of Shackleton's men in Antarctica? If so, it's appropriate timing. Belichick once showed a movie about Shackleton's adventures. One of the most incredible stories I've ever come across. I assume you know about it, Best, correct?

I do, Bob. But that is a picture of the Penn football team in the late 1890s. Sorry it's so fuzzy. By the way, SportsCenter this morning referred to "published reports" when it brought up the latest twist on Spygate. No Newsday love!
