WatchDog escapes basement, covers football!
They let me out of the basement Sunday night for my annual football game.
Yup, for the third time in the three years since I left the Giants beat, I covered a late-December game as a general columnist. The Giants' record in those three games: 0-3. Sorry.
At least they were (slightly) less bad than the last time I visited, for last year's Christmas Eve debacle against the Saints.
It wasn't a total loss. I ate some Giants Stadium rice pudding, saw some old writer friends, talked to Amani Toomer about the wind and talked Michael Strahan about his book.
As I walked out of the stadium tunnel to head home, I was happy to weigh a career-high 200-plus pounds, because at anything less than that, I would have been blown over by the wind, directly into the path of a Redskins bus.
In which case the Skins would have done to me exactly what they did on the field to Big Blue.

Eli Manning is the worst high profile QB I have ever seen. He makes awful throws and then looks around like it is the fault of everyone but him.
I don't know the man but judging by his facial expressions, his attitude sucks. I played sports growing up with people who got those looks on their face when THEY messed up and it was no fun.
The Giants might be 9-5 but they are a mess.
