Tom Hammond would be a nice addition to NFL Net
I didn't hear Tom Hammond on the NFL Network game Thursday night, because I was busy being annoyed about the Mitchell Report and watching hockey games on my computer (more about that in Sunday's newspaper).
Not surprisingly, though, I have heard second hand that Hammond sounded good in place of Bryant Gumbel, who was reported to be unwell.
Hello? Steve Bornstein? Perhaps if Gumbel realizes he's just not cut out for this particular line of work it would be a good idea to reach out to Mr. Hammond.
That's it for me. It's been a wacky week, highlighted by my long-awaited encounter with Don Ohlmeyer and invitations to two late-night Manhattan parties from a former Playboy Playmate.
(That's her in the picture, looking hopeful that I will accept the invite.)
It's pretty much all downhill from here.
Enjoy "Fishing with Roland Martin" on Versus at 5:30 a.m. Saturday.

Hey! Quit knocking the fishing shows!
I went fishing regularly during my two years in Alaska, because to not do so would have made me a social outcast. But I have not been fishing before or since. I caught a salmon and cooked it for my mother when she came to visit.
Thanks for reading. Good luck in the snow Sunday.
