Mitchell fallout: WatchDog observes, writes, whines
OK, I'm back, after wasting a day neglecting my wife, daughters and blog (not necessarily in that order) so I could follow the coverage of the Mitchell Report.
I'm done with it now. Good luck, Ken, Kat and David.
For the love of Tiki, it's football season, people! Please? Maybe just for a week or two?
Anyway, here's my obligatory newspaper column on Mr. Mitchell's big day. Enjoy!
One thing I ended up cutting out for space and also because I wasn't sure of it at the time: As far as I can tell Shaun Assael of ESPN The Magazine was the first to report that Roger Clemens was on the list.
I try to avoid being the referee when it comes to what outlet was first by five or 10 or 20 minutes on a big story, but in this case I don't mind giving credit if it's due.
I never had heard of Assael until Thursday. Where is ESPN getting all these journalists?
I know they have my number, so that can't be the reason they haven't offered me a big, Reilly-esque contract yet. Maybe today.

neil,if you get on the espn sports reporter show or maybe daily news live on sny your profile will be raised.
ah.....Daily News Live? We all know that Best writes for the Post.
Good advice: Report on SNY, don't appear on it. Conflict of interest, negative publicity for Newsday on Daily News branded show.
Anyhow, more Mitchell Report fallout. and how it smeared ballplayers NOT on the list:
