Masters' Par 3 event to be on TV for first time

281x375.aspx.jpgESPN and the Masters announced Thursday that the Worldwide Leader will show the Par 3 contest the day before the tournament begins.

It's a TV first!

“It is an event everyone enjoys and we think it will demonstrate to kids just how fun golf can be,” Masters chairman Billy Payne said of the event, which has been held since 1960.

ESPN also is televising the first two rounds of the tournament itself.

This is the same Billy Payne who ran the 1996 Olympic Summer Games in Atlanta. Does Billy have a mascot for the Masters yet.......
