Breaking news: Giants won't play Bills at night

vikings_logo.gifWatchDog has learned that the NFL will "flex" the Redskins-Vikings game into prime time Dec. 23, thus passing on the other leading contender: Giants at Bills.

The thinking is there is a better chance the Redskins-Vikings game will be meaningful, with the Giants having all but locked up the top wild-card spot.

The decision will save the Giants from playing their final three regular-season games at night - including a road game the night before Christmas Eve - and save fans in Buffalo from shivering through a night game in late December.

Fans in Minnesota will be warm and cozy indoors that night.

And it will allow the NHL to move in the night of the 23rd.

Can't wait for Doc, Eddie, Pierre and Mike Milbury on NBC.

It's true. The NHL wanted to get started setting up for the Jan. 1 outdoor game the night after the Bills were done and would have been set back by a few hours if the football game were moved.
