Blogosphere leads to reunion with long-ago teacher
Some of you might have missed it, since it was posted at 11:53 Friday night, but my post about the recent death of a respected teacher at Northport High School led to a nice e-mail note from my junior-year social studies teacher, Linda Skidmore.
She taught my class in her very first year as a teacher, and she's still going strong at my alma mater.
Ms. Skidmore also confirmed that I messed up in the weekend post by saying our class won the Current Events Sweepstakes championship in 1978. In fact, it was 1977.
WatchDog regrets the error.

Yes, and the main point you were trying to make is that you kicked their a$$. We didn't care much about the date. But like the good journalist you are, you issue a mea culpa.
I also want to thank Ms. Skidmore for all that she's done to educate the youth of our nation.
If I had been in Mr. Goldblatt's AP class with all of those smart kids maybe I'd be an elitist snob with a high-paying job rather than the humble man of the people that I turned out to be.
