The NFL is really, really popular
Sorry to give you yet another NFL ratings post, but I'm on vacation and this is all I got right now. So here is a bit more on the Patriots-Colts showdown:
The 33.8 million viewers were the most for a Sunday afternoon regular-season game in the 20 years for which reliable statistics are available.
It also made the game the most-watched show of the current television season, and the most-watched show since the Academy Awards in February, which drew 40.4 million.
Since the start of the NFL season, its games account for four of the five most-watched time slots:
Patriots-Colts (Nov. 4) 33.8 million
Patriots-Cowboys, and other regional games (Oct. 14) 29.1 million
CSI (Sept. 27) 25.4 million
Vikings-Cowboys, and other regional games (Oct. 21) 23.6 million
Bears-Chargers, and other regional games (Sept. 9) 22.1 million

Modern Gladiators, they are, those men willing to smash into one another at full speed, following the rule of laws and nature, where force hits force and the unround ball bounces and--jeez I love this game. Even though my team is only slightly better than your J-E-T-S, Jets! Jets! Jets!
My sister has a Nielsen box at here house (she gets paid for it). I wonder how accurate that system really is. I bet 50 million TV's had the game on.
