Patrick McEnroe joins ESPN 1050
Patrick McEnroe will be hosting a Saturday sports talk show on ESPN 1050 starting tomorrow at 3:30 p.m.
I once had lunch with McEnroe during a Davis Cup news conference.
I don't have anything clever or interesting to say about this. I am going to be on vacation for one week, effective in two hours.

Not related to McEnroe (other than how his brother might react if this happened to him), but what's the deal with Newsday starting a new community action column called "watchdog"? Don't you have dibs?

yestereday i was chatting with patrick when my cel phone battery went dead and i didnt hear his response. we were discussing the sampras federer matches in the far east, and i told patrick after watching all 3 matches that roger was playing very seriously, and especially in the 3rd match with pete ahead 76, 44 that roger did not want to lose. at that point it was pete who once again stepped it up and won the 2nd set 64. i was curious to know what made patrick think that as great a player as roger is, that he would want to lose to a guy who has not played professional tennis for 5 years. im not as familiar with exhibitions as patrick, but dont these guys come out to win. this was also in my mind a very special exhibition by the two greatest players of the modern era. it is quite a testament to pete's gift that even after 5 years away from the top of the game he can still go head to head with roger. anyway how can i go about hearing more of patrick's feelings about exhibitions and there place in the game.
