Kornheiser to tell WatchDog of '08 plans! Not yet, though
There apparently are some blogosphere rumors coming out of our nation's capital about Tony Kornheiser planning to give up "Monday Night Football'' after the season.
I happened to ask Tony about that very thing earlier this week, and he indicated he'd be happy to discuss his thinking on that subject with me - after the season is over.
So I do not have any direct knowledge of his plans one way or the other. But I would be far from shocked if he did decide two years was enough.
If so, ESPN should seriously consider going with a two-man booth of Mike Tirico and Ron Jaworski and streamlining its overstuffed presentation.
We'll see.

tony is great on pti but has contributed nothing to MNF.
Perhaps Mike Francesa will finally get his shot.
Mike and "Puppy" go as a package deal. Have those two "guest" once in a while.
I'm laughing just thinking about it.
I remember they did some commentary on a Mets game a while back, were they any good?
Phil: That was in May of '06. Actually, I thought they did a pretty good job.
Neil,
They did play by play in that game it was an afternoon game against the Phillies if I am correct it sounded god awful!! Dog sounded like he was auditioning for college radio and Mike kept reading the live commercials fast and furious. They did do a better job when they did a college basketball game though do not recall the game they called but I do remember the broadcast on a Saturday afternoon about five yrs ago. They should have called a Cyclone game instead at the time.
It was a day game. I thought they were OK.
My dream would be reuniting the better MNF crew in Nessler/Jaws/Vemiel again. Or even bring back Fouts or god forbid have an ex-defensive player in the booth like LaVar Arrington. Tirico needs to go too. His voice is made for golf and the man seriously has ADD. But knowing ESPN they'll put Mike Ditka with Mike & Mike again with their radio schtick on full swing with Colin Cowherd as a sideline reporter making cartoon noises.
