David Wright appears on SNY with unusual headgear

wrght%201.jpgAnyone out there have an explanation for the hat David Wright wore throughout his appearance Monday night on the season premiere of SNY's "Mets Hot Stove?"

The matter did not come up on the show, so maybe there is a logical explanation for this. I'm looking into it before poking fun at him.

Could it have something to do with his charitable work on behalf of ailing children? If so, God bless him.

If it was simply an ill-advised celebrity fashion statement . . . God help him, and sign A-Rod!

(Update: Apparently Wright was wearing the hat in tribute to the ailing youngsters he visited in the hospital at NYU earlier in the day, many of whom wore simiilar caps. In which case, as I wrote above, God bless him. It would have been nice for Wright and/or the SNY crew to explain this to concerned viewers, though.)

It was a hat similar to the ones the kids were wearing at the NYU hospital where he appeared yesterday. Check out last night's Eyewitness News sports report.

They actually showed video of him with the hat on later during that same edition of "Hot Stove".

I know. But did they explain the meaning of the hat???

ooh he is turning black.
