Don Imus set to make his return at Beacon Theatre
Citadel Broadcasting still hasn't made an official announcement about Don Imus signing a contract to return to radio on WABC-AM, but plans are underway for his debut show, which is expected to take place on Monday, Dec. 3.
Imus likely will make his return at the Beacon Theatre in Manhattan, with a guest list that has yet to be determined, according to a person familiar with the plans.
Thereafter Imus presumably would work out of the ABC studios, backed by a cast that has yet to be finalized.

If there was anything about subscribing to the RSS feeds from your blog that might make me think about becoming an unsubscriber, these Imusty posts are it.
Hmm. Beacon Theater owned by Dolans.
Imus on MSG?
KEEP IT UP BEST!
Neil, you're so close to bringing this story home. You can almost taste the finish line. All we need is the cast list and the official annoucement from WABC and then you can rest. Congrats. I suspect you will never have another story quite like this.
Prediction: Mike/Dog both on Imus's first show. That should be interesting for the FAN.
Mccord reading the news better than anyone just down the dial from the FAN. Chernoff must be crushed.
I can't wait for Best to tell us that Raffino is ditching Boomer/Carton. He is considered best engineer around so this will hurt the fan. Keep giving us the scoop Neil. We'll keep viewing your site! Best rules!
Neil, you need a shot on Imus. Hopefully your great sources can get you on. You'd have so much fun on there.
Neil, you need to have a ticket giveaway for this event on your blog. You have earned it. So close to completing the story! Can't wait for Lou to leave the fan.
Lou. Lou. Where is Lou?
Charlie,
You're going to ditch 24 years of friendship over Imus RSS issues! No!
Why the fuss over a washed-up has been radio talent?
And btw, it's RUFFINO R-U-F-F-I-N-O....
If the logic behind signing Imus is better ratings...will the peons be listening because the show is so damn good? Or, will they be listening because we can listen for his lungs to collapse and for his watermelon head to hit the desk? *THUD*
Keep Curtis and Kuby. Gambling is the one who should be dumped on WABC.
Thank you for your coverage of the Imus story. The untold story is that of the fans of Imus who have been in mourning.
Hey Phil,
Two words for you. And if you hate him, change the channel.
I just don't understand people who hate Imus coming on pro Imus sites. Don't you people have anything better to do? I don't have the time to go trolling for trouble.
I want to be here! All the chances I had to see him in Boston over the years, damn! Thanks, Neil.
Neil, as everyone keeps saying, you're so close to bringing this story home. Keep it up. Refreshments will be served at the finish line!!
The Beacon theatre on Broadway holds 2800 patrons. I assume this is going to be not only for the general public but also for friends of Imus and true supporters. This is going to be some shindig.
If they were planning a coming out party I can't think of a better place.
Thanks Neil. Secure your ticket, if you haven't already.
Once Citadel makes the official announcement I am certain that there will be more advertising in New York then there was when Imus was starting his simulcast on MSNBC.
Good Job my friend. It's like I know you.
Bruce from Florida
This is getting better by the second. Thanks for these updates. The drought is almost over.
It doesn't get much better than this for Imus fans. And Phil, you sound just like Howie Carr!
We already have the scoop on Lou. He is going with IITM... http://www.supportimus.org/2007/10/more_great_news.html
Neil,
Thanks to you and Newsday for keeping the light on for us Imus fans... hope to see you at the Beacon.
Still waiting for official word on Lou. Neil, you are so close to your work being done. Bring it home.
Neil,
Thank you for keeping the story alive and bringing us such great news!
You should be a guest on Imus' first show. You have a great sense of humor...you have to, you put up with us (I-Fans!)
Now, where can we get tickets?????
Can't wait for the IMan's return! Now we need the scoop on radio syndiation and TV simulcast. MUST components for the Iman....
I realize I am going to bring the wrath of Imus fans upon me, but I don't get it. I read an article on the ratings in a competing New York daily this morning and Curtis and Kuby draw a 3.4 morning rating. Imus was doing 1.7 to 2.1 in his last days on FAN. Even though he's been off the air on FAN for 6 months, the ratings on FAN are pretty much the same if not even a little higher. Why would ABC dump a show that gets a 3.4 for a show that gets a 2.5 at best? Is the potential syndication money that much more lucrative? I never thought I'd say this, but I feel sorry for Curtis Sliwa and Ron Kuby. To get a 3.4 on AM radio in this day and age is a remarkable achievement. Phil was LI is right - are they putting Imus on the air in hopes that he cashes out during drivetime? I just don't get it. Thank god for satellite radio.
This peculiar brand of DawgBlog reader, the Imusthavenolifers, will soon be gone, and this little corner of the Inet will go back to being without those posts like Mary Lynn's that say: "Two words for you. And if you hate him, change the channel." Sorry Mary Lynn, but you forgot to tell us which two of those eight words we were supposed to take. The two I'm going with are: Hate Him.
But I love Best and, though I threatened to unsubscribe to the RSS feed, I'm not going to do that because I know that 99% of you Imuskooks will soon be gone and paying no mind to this blog upon the return of your hero. Once the page views dry up, the narcotic effect these meaningless "updates" have, will soon wear off. I just hope the Dawg can get over the shakes and the sharp decline in page views.
How do we get tickets? I'll pay good money to be there.
charlie chikloot-your'e more weird than any of the Imuskooks. Neil is doing us all a service. I notice that his other blogs do not get nearly as many commenters as these Imus updates...there are many people who hate Imus (and it seems you're one of them). when Imus returns, just don't listen...it's really not a problem-either for him or anyone else.
Charlie,
Thanks for the Imuskooks remark, I do miss being told to get a life. SMILE.
Imus's ratings were up 39% when he was removed from the Air. Imus had btw 2.5 and 3 million viewers and listeners, we ALL are not in New York metro area.
I am not going to desert Neil, I am hoping he is a regular guest on Imus's new program. Imus fans are loyal...to a fault.
I definately hope to hear Neil on Imus' show. He can talk about all of us Imuskooks.
Wait a minute, so you mean the "I-Man's" time slot had a BETTER rating when he WAS NOT on the air?
WHOA! Wow! Besides being a pro athlete, I guess being a radio guy is how to get a salary that doesn't match my performance.
Phil,
Imus's time slot on MSNBC went into the toilet, the Fan went from charging 1500 for a commerical to 200.
Neil, is listening to Boomer, ask him how the WFAN is doing now.
All,
It isn't all a metro NYC thing. Here is a Imus fan map, you have to hit the bottom where it states stats ect go inside you can look at some of the members.

Neil,
Fake Imus is back.

IMUS TO RFD???
So say the New Yawk Times....
How the mighty have fallen *quack quack*
RFD is an excellent place for Imus. His fans will listen/watch wherever he lands and make it successful. MSNBC is down 43% and is a loser without Imus!
I'm an urban, educated, mature female Imus fan. RFD is a great fit for him. I don't have a DISH or Direct TV, but I'll get it before December 3rd.
MSNBC was a loser before Imus anyway.
*quack quack*
Boomer/Carton stink. WABC will soar in the morning ratings.
